The Kurdish Culture is warm, hospitable and expressed through tradition and community. Kurdish cuisine, celebrations and society play a large role within Kurdish culture.

Food of Kurdistan
Kurdish cuisine reflects the diverse nature of Kurdish culture spanning the different Kurdish regions. Common ingredient within Kurdish Cuisine include:
lamb, goat, beef, chicken
rice, bread
yogurt, cheese, parley dill and mint
Some popular dishes include: Dolma, Shorba, Kebab which can be accompanied with Nânê Tîrî.

Kurdish Celebration
Kurdish traditions and celebrations are a way celebrating culture, continuity, progress and one another. Newroz is perhaps the main celebration, whereby people gather to celebrate the Kurdish New Year. Activities include: bonfires, showcasing traditional clothes, singing traditional Kurdish songs and enjoy food amongst the community.
Weddings in Kurdistan also play a large role in Kurdish culture. Kurdish weddings can continues for several days with communities enjoying meals together, dancing and giving gifts. Music and dance are often present in the celebration, with traditional and cultural clothing expressing the joy of such an occasion.

Kurdish Society
Kurdish society embraces many core values. Hospitality within Kurdish communities is of large significance as well as honour and responsibility. Kinship and family plays a large role within Kurdish society, including the respecting of elders and others. Older members within communities can lend a hand to meditate conflict that can arise and help unite togetherness within Kurdish towns and villages.
